As Syria confronts the long and complex path toward reconstruction, this event explores the critical intersections of economy, identity, and institutions shaping the country's future. We examine the legacy of neoliberal reforms and privatization policies that have deepened inequality and undermined public trust. Whereas, the role of religion in politics and the proliferation of identity-based narratives of hatred and exclusion have further fragmented the social fabric, in the absence of credible justice mechanisms.
Against this backdrop, the lifting of sanctions and emerging regional agreements raise urgent questions about transparency, accountability, and the inclusion of Syrians in decisions that will shape their destiny. This discussion will critically reflect on the challenges and possibilities of building a just, inclusive, and democratic Syria.
